You will be guided through physical exercises, mindful movement, and breathing exercises, as well as specific techniques – some using the Standard Buttafly – to help restore your optimal alignment of the spine.

You will develop greater awareness of your body so that you can feel stiffness, restrictions, and disconnect, and re-gain confidence and ease of movement throughout your whole system for the benefit of your health and well-being.
Who is the Yoga for a Healthy Back for?
- People with intermittent or recurrent back pain;
- those who suffer from chronic pelvic pain and hip problems; and
- those with mild scoliosis.

Recognising that the thoughts we think and the words we use about ourselves influence our physiology and our physicality. The exercises in Yoga for a Healthy Back are based on:
- Physiotherapeutic principles;
- mindfulness; and
- cognitive behavioural skills.
Do You Need Experience in Yoga?
You do not need to have previous experience of yoga to take part in Yoga for a Healthy Back – although you will need to be able to get up and down from the floor with ease. You will benefit from having a Standard Buttafly to participate fully, but it is not a requirement of signing up.
How Do I Attend Yoga for a Healthy Back?
This is an online event that will be held over Zoom. You will need to download and install Zoom in order to attend.
